ABout myself

I am Calvin Comstock, and I am a 20 year old Graphic Designer from Boise, Idaho. I began creating sports graphics on my phone for my favorite athletes at 12 years old and haven't stopped designing since. Today, I am a proffesional Graphic Designer in the Sports Media Industry, with 5 years of experience in the Sports Media space. I currently work as a graphic designer for the Sports Media network "Playmaker" and as a Student Creative Intern for the Boise State Football team. I am in my second year at Boise State University and am pursuing a Major in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with a minor in Visual Design. During my college time, I hope to learn to become a more effective communicator while continuing to refine my Graphic Design skills. After graduating, I hope to continue to work in Sports Media and to attain a full time position at an Athletic Department.

graphic design
Profficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom, with 5+ years of experience with all. Strongest with Photoshop and photo manipulation.
Turnaround time
With my experience working for Playmaker, have learned to work and thrive in a time sensitive enviroment, along with meeting quick deadlines.
Project/time management
As a full-time student with two jobs, I have learned to effectively manage my time while dealing with multiple projects at once, while maintaining quality in my work.

Work experience

PLaymaker (2018-2020, 2022-Present)
Work as a Graphic Designer for Playmaker specializing in social media content, template creation, Youtube thumbnails, promotional content, logos, and more. Work behind the scenes on major Podcast shows such as "The Big Podcast" with Shaquille O'Neal, "Get Got Pod" with Marshawn Lynch, "Roommates Show" with Jalen Brunson & Josh Hart, "The OGS Show" with Udonis Haslem & Mike Miller, and more.
Boise state (2024-present)
Started a Student Designer Internship with the Boise State Athletics Program this semester, focusing on creating content for the Football team. Create social graphics for the Team's social media pages and have primarily created work for the Recruiting office. Create weekly good luck graphics that are sent out to Recruits, along with various other work. Also take photos on gamedays and recruiting visits.

freelance experience

  • Apart from my two current positions, I have other freelance work experience in Sports Media. These include: Creating content for the basketball account @Statline which has over 200K followers on Instagram, Creating social media graphics for "The Standard" NIL Collective, any many other one-off commision Committment edits for College Athletes.
